In my search for ways to get exhausted but still keep functional knees, I tried today some cycling. And I’m really excited about the result. For the first 15 minutes or so I had the feeling I pretty much always have, the feeling that something is not really right down there. But gradually the feeling disappeared as I was getting warmer, so I tried to push it quite hard and still without any feeling that anything was broken.

So now I’m looking to get my own bike, which isn’t as easy as it might sound. There are so many options and brands, and I can only understand half of it. Everything is written in a code only hardcore bikers can understand, or something like that. To start with the parts I actually understand what they mean, hard tail or fullsuspension? Disc brakes or V-brakes? What kind of pedals? Which frame, gears, suspension, brakes, saddle and wheel? Etc, etc… If there is a kind soul that understands and can explain what I need please mail me. Oh I forgot, I know that I want a MTB, that I’m sure about.

Okay, I admit, the weather is nice, and when you live up here in the north the light is really welcome, but…

And there’s always a but, for the last 4 years the people closest to me have (almost) been the ones who have been physically furthest away. And sure with all the modern communication devices it’s easier, at least, to keep the contact. But it is just not the same thing as being able to chill in the last days of the summer, feeling the life move really slow, you know how things go.

I really thought this summer would be different, and in many regards it is. But the history is repeating it self, even though it’s a completely different situation and relation, the feeling is kinda the same.

It’s been a crazy time, the only thing I’ve been really sure of the last seven months are that you would be there. You’ve been the friend one can imagine.

Well now it’s time to adjust to the new times that are coming, changes have and will happen, and it’s sort of with a mix of terror and excitement that I look forward to the fall.

Anyway, it’s getting late…

“This is for my family, began with my crew, it will end with my crew..”

(btw, can you spot the two Looptroop quotes?)

I think you know who you are…

Just a quick explanation, why pocketmode?

The answer is simple, my first webserver was called pocketmode, some of you may remember it. It must have be seven years since it was first taken online, and iirc it survived over a year online, hosting mine and some of my friends homepages and ftp servers. It was pentium 2 initially running windows 2k, then switching to debian for the remainder of it’s life time.

Can’t remember why I chose the name pocketmode, but I guess I thought is was cute.
